Vintage Watch Condition Examination:

This GMT is in great vintage condition consistent with age. The case is strong with normal signs of wear. The blue back service bezel is in great condition; the colors are vibrant. The later replacement dial is in attractive condition with light patina and some marks. The dial has a drag mark on the 3 o’clock side that is hard to notice. The service hands are in great condition with light patina; the minute hand has a small hole in the lume. The lume on the dial and in the hands have aged to a beautiful creamy color. Some of the lume plots show degradation/ wear (6, 9 & 12 o’clock). The Oyster bracelet is in great condition with normal signs of wear and a bit of stretch between the links.

Description: Vintage Rolex GMT-Master 1675 Pepsi

This circa 1972 example is in overall beautiful and honest condition. This watch has a classic “Pepsi” GMT vibe with its vibrant “Pepsi” bezel and nicely aged lume. The GMT Master is Rolex?s signature pilot?s watch, complete with dual-time capabilities. It came to market in 1955, with ref. 1675 following shortly after in 1959. It?s one of the most sought-after vintage Rolex watches on the secondary market because it?s instantly recognizable with its 24-hour bezel and dedicated GMT hand. The Rolex 1675 was also notably the first GMT Master to use crown guards.

The example we have here is what we called “all serviced up” meaning that the dial, hands, bezel, and bracelet are later service replacements. It was very common for Rolex to do this when a watch went in for routine service. The watch is circa 1972 and would have featured a similar matte dial, but the one currently in the watch is a later matte version. If you didn’t know the serial number, the watch seems like a later 1970s version due to the dial. These “all serviced up” GMT’s offer a great value and this one has an excellent overall look with the jubilee bracelet and nicely faded bezel.
