Description: Rolex Explorer 114270
Pre-owned Rolex Explorer ref 114270 (2001 – 2002). The ready-for-anything mountaineer’s tool watch was produced for almost a decade between 2001 and 2010. Although slightly thicker, it kept the same 36mm case size and dial design as its predecessor, ref. 14270, including luminescent Arabic numerals and Rolex’s famous Mercedes-style hands. However, ref. 114270 also sports the then-new caliber 3130 self-winding time-only movement, an upgrade from the caliber 3000, essentially a dateless caliber 3135. Technical specs aside, the Rolex 114270 is an incredibly versatile and sophisticated luxury watch that flies a little more under the radar. It keeps perfect time while scaling the world’s tallest mountains yet looks outstanding tucked under a dress cuff.
