Pre-owned Rolex OysterQuartz Day-Date ref 19018 (1979) is a product of the Big Crown’s first foray into producing quartz watches during what is now famously known as the “quartz crises” of the 1970s and 1980s. While the brand previously offered mechanical movements, it shifted gears during the crisis, which saw quartz-powered watches dominate the market. However, in true Rolex fashion, the OysterQuartz series was only outfitted with the most sophisticated and precise in-house quartz movement and reliable waterproof Oyster case. The striking angular case and integrated bracelet set these watches apart from the rest of the Rolex portfolio. Ref. 19018 is a Day-Date edition of the Rolex quartz collection with the legendary dual apertures on the dial and lustrous precious metal finish.
