Pre-owned Rolex Datejust ref 1601 (1973) Sigma dial Rolex is a fascinating collector’s item. At first glance, it looks like any other vintage Datejust 36, featuring a fluted bezel in white gold, the famous 5-link Jubilee bracelet, and a jump date mechanism at 3 o’clock. However, look closely at the text at the bottom of the dial, and you will see that the distinction, “T Swiss T,” is flanked on either side by the Greek Sigma symbol. Sigma was added to the dial to denote white gold hour markers and hands, which might otherwise be mistaken for stainless steel. The Rolex 1601 for sale here also sports a lovely Pie Pan dial, Tritium in a deep patina, and an older-style acrylic crystal.
